Where the Numbers Come From

Accelerate Solar publishes independent, data-backed guides and product reviews to help residential and commercial solar PV owners get more energy from their installations. Every article is grounded in publicly available research from NREL, the EC Joint Research Centre (PVGIS), the International Energy Agency, and manufacturer datasheets — not manufacturer talking points. We write from published data and manufacturer documentation. We do not run our own bench tests, and any figure that comes from a measurement links to whoever took it.

Site History

The accelerate-solar.com domain was previously used by Accelerate Solar LLC, a solar installation company based in Charlotte, North Carolina. We acquired the domain in March 2026 after that use ended. This site is a new, independent editorial project: we are a publisher, not an installer, and we are not affiliated with the previous owner in any way. If you were a customer of that company, we cannot help with warranties, service calls, or records from before the acquisition. The archive here starts after that handover, and each piece in it follows the editorial standards below.

Editorial Team

James Whitfield — Lead Editor & Senior PV Engineer

James holds a BSc in Electrical Engineering and has spent 12 years designing and commissioning grid-tied PV systems across residential, commercial, and utility-scale projects in the UK and North America. His specialities include MPPT algorithm analysis, string inverter configuration, and yield modelling with PVGIS and PVWatts. Sarah Okonkwo — Product Reviewer & Energy Analyst

Sarah holds an MSc in Sustainable Energy Systems from University College London (UCL). With seven years of hands-on experience evaluating solar monitoring platforms and power optimizer hardware, she brings both engineering rigour and a consumer-focused perspective to every product assessment. Sarah manages our product testing methodology and affiliate disclosure process. Her academic background at UCL's Energy Institute informs her systematic approach to comparative product analysis.

Editorial Standards

All performance claims are sourced from peer-reviewed studies, national laboratory measurements, or IEC-certified test data. Where we cite a statistic, we link directly to the primary source. We do not accept sponsored content or paid placements. Product links go to the manufacturer and earn nothing. The one affiliate link on the site is the Amazon banner under each article, and it never influences our editorial assessments or star ratings.

Our Fact-Checking Process

  1. Source identification: Every quantitative claim must have a primary source — NREL publications, EC JRC PVGIS datasets, IEA World Energy Outlook, or manufacturer-certified IEC test reports.
  2. Source check before publication: Before an article goes live, its figures and claims are re-read against the cited primary sources, and any calculation shown in the text is recomputed. We do not claim a separate engineering sign-off on each article.
  3. Data verification: Statistics pulled from third-party databases are cross-checked against at least one independent source before being included.
  4. Correction policy: If an error is identified after publication, we update the article promptly and add a dated correction note at the bottom of the page.

Accelerate Solar is editorially independent. We receive no payment from manufacturers to write positive reviews. Product pages link to the manufacturer and earn us nothing. Each article does end with one Amazon Associates banner, and if you open an account through it we may earn a small fee at no cost to you.
