Our Mission
Accelerate Solar publishes independent, data-backed guides and product reviews to help residential and commercial solar PV owners get more energy from their installations. Every article is grounded in publicly available research from NREL, the EC Joint Research Centre (PVGIS), the International Energy Agency, and manufacturer datasheets — not manufacturer talking points.

James Whitfield — Lead Editor & Senior PV Engineer
James holds a BSc in Electrical Engineering and has spent 12 years designing and commissioning grid-tied PV systems across residential, commercial, and utility-scale projects in the UK and North America. His specialities include MPPT algorithm analysis, string inverter configuration, and yield modelling with PVGIS and PVWatts. James leads all technical reviews on Accelerate Solar and is responsible for ensuring every performance claim is traceable to a primary source. Sarah Okonkwo — Product Reviewer & Energy Analyst
Sarah holds an MSc in Sustainable Energy Systems from University College London (UCL). With seven years of hands-on experience evaluating solar monitoring platforms and power optimizer hardware, she brings both engineering rigour and a consumer-focused perspective to every product assessment. Sarah manages our product testing methodology and affiliate disclosure process. Her academic background at UCL's Energy Institute informs her systematic approach to comparative product analysis.
Editorial Standards
All performance claims are sourced from peer-reviewed studies, national laboratory measurements, or IEC-certified test data. Where we cite a statistic, we link directly to the primary source. We do not accept sponsored content or paid placements. Product links may include affiliate relationships; this never influences our editorial assessments or star ratings.
Our Fact-Checking Process
- Source identification: Every quantitative claim must have a primary source — NREL publications, EC JRC PVGIS datasets, IEA World Energy Outlook, or manufacturer-certified IEC test reports.
- Technical review: Articles are reviewed by at least one engineer with direct experience in the topic before publication.
- Data verification: Statistics pulled from third-party databases are cross-checked against at least one independent source before being included.
- Correction policy: If an error is identified after publication, we update the article promptly and add a dated correction note at the bottom of the page.
