SolarEdge P730S - Overview
The SolarEdge P730S is the large-format variant of SolarEdge's residential power optimizer range, designed for modern 66- and 72-cell panels with power ratings from 375W to 730W. As TOPCon and HJT panel wattages continue to rise - with 440 - 480W modules now standard and 550W+ bifacial panels appearing on premium residential installs - the P730S covers these higher-wattage configurations where the P370 would be undersized.
When to Use P730S Instead of P370
The P370 is rated for panels up to 375 Wp. Modern TOPCon and HJT panels from Longi, Jinko, and Trina often range from 400 - 450W - correctly within the P730S range. Misspecifying an optimizer below the panel's STC power rating voids the optimizer warranty and limits the maximum power point tracking range. Always match the optimizer input power rating to the panel's STC Pmax.
Bifacial Panel Compatibility
Large-format bifacial panels generate additional power from reflected light on the rear cell surface - typically 5 - 15% additional yield depending on ground albedo. The P730S input power rating accommodates the bifacial boost: a 440W front-rated bifacial panel can produce up to 504W under high-albedo conditions, well within the P730S's 730W ceiling.
SafeDC and 25-Year Warranty
Like all SolarEdge P-series optimizers, the P730S includes SafeDC, reducing panel output voltage to 1V when the inverter is off or during maintenance. The 25-year warranty matches standard panel lifespans.
